Summary
By establishing a timeline for Parties to review, assess and provide a response to a completed licence application this agreement facilitates labour mobility of gasfitters seeking to work in other Canadian locations. Parties also commit to the timely adoption of several relevant fuel safety standards with as few exceptions, variations, or deviations as possible and to remove exceptions, variations or deviations in these standards. This will support a more aligned standards framework and greater labour mobility.
Description
First appeared on the 2019-2020 RCT Work Plan. Only NS has implemented as of 2026 RCT Work Plan. Deadline as of the 2025 RCT Work Plan was April 30, 2025; this was pushed to Nov 1, 2025 as of the 2026 Work Plan. A reconciliation agreement was reached on Nov 1, 2025 (https://rct-tccr.ca/agreement/reconciliation-agreement-to-improve-interjurisdictional-commerce-and-the-mobility-of-gasfitters-2025/).
