Summary
Changing federal rules to allow provinces and territories to recognize each other's approved food products, making it easier to trade across Canada. Food sold within a province or territory must comply with that province or territory’s food safety and inspection rules. Once it crosses provincial/territorial limits, it falls within the jurisdiction of the new province/territory, as well as applicable federal legislation.
Description
First featured on 2018 RCT Work Plan. Remained under negotiation as of the 2025 RCT Work Plan.
